MUSEUMS & HOSPITALITY
The Collector.
In a small museum, you don't join a department. You become all of them. This card holds my museum and gallery work, plus a bistro I branded from the very first sketch.
Big museums display the world. Small ones keep their communities' stories alive.
Words:
Media releases, e-blasts, newspaper columns, and features for Fun in the Sun magazine. I also wrote or proofed most of the exhibition and intro panels.
At the Museum on Tower Hill in Parry Sound, I had a hand in everything: the words on the walls, the posters in town, the programs, the grants, and the gift shop. At the end of my contract, I consulted on the museum's five-year strategic plan.
Design:
Posters, social media graphics, all in-house signage, and the layouts for exhibition panels.
Community:
The Community Engagement project, exhibition research, public programming, grant applications, donations, and the gift shop.
Small Museums.
Every department.
FEATURED EXHIBITION
John
Macfie
Artist, author, and historian, John Macfie compiled books from more than a hundred interviews with Parry Sound locals. The museum owed him a lot, so it was fitting to honour him with an exhibition.
I created the full campaign from archival photos: posters, social posts, website banners, an exhibition page, and an infographic on his work as an author. I wanted the poster to feel epic, so I cut out and layered the images by hand in Photoshop.
FROM THE ARCHIVE
Gallery work.

Re-Imagined Landscapes
Christina Luck's paintings brought warmth to a family court waiting room, with colouring pages of her work for the children who waited there. I helped select and frame the paintings and interviewed Luck in her studio.
Selecting, framing, filming, and interviewing artists

The Season
An open call inviting local artists to interpret "the season" however they wished. On opening night, the gallery was packed.

Man Cave
I filmed and edited a video for artists Tyler Durbano and Sean George's installation, played on a refurbished vintage television.
HOSPITALITY · CHEF HENRIE BISTRO & CAFÉ · 2017–2020
Branded from the first sketch.
I created the bistro's brand in 2017, from the logo and colours to its tone and voice, built to appeal to Muskoka cottagers and locals alike. For three years, I ran its website, marketing, communications, and philanthropy.
The first event
I promoted the bistro's first Weisswurst Party, which drew guests from Kitchener to MacTier for a pretzel and a beer.
Real, not stock
Authenticity was the brand, so I shot every photo and video myself, at the restaurant, on a phone.
